Two New Icebreaker Games for Retrospectives
Running the same icebreaker every sprint gets old fast. We added two new games to keep things fresh and give your team more ways to warm up before diving into the retro.
What's New
Three Games to Choose From
When you start an icebreaker, you now pick between three game types:
Question & Answer: The original. Pick a question, everyone answers, reveal one by one. Still great, just not every single sprint
Hot Takes: Share a spicy statement like "Superhero movies are getting boring" and everyone rates on a spectrum from Strongly Agree to Strongly Disagree. Results show the full spread of opinions across the team
Would You Rather: Two options, pick one. "Be the first person on Mars" or "Discover a cure for a major disease." Simple, fast, and always starts a conversation
Multiple Rounds
All three games support multiple rounds, so you can run a few quick questions back to back without restarting.
AI-Generated Prompts
Short on ideas? Hit "Generate with AI" to get fresh prompts for any game type. No more scrambling to come up with questions five minutes before your retro.
Why It Matters
Icebreakers only work when people actually engage with them. That stops happening when it's the same format every two weeks. Giving facilitators three different game types means they can rotate and keep things unpredictable. Hot Takes and Would You Rather also surface opinions in a different way than Q&A, which can set a better tone for the discussion phase of your retro.
Available now in all Sprint Retrospectives. Hit the Ice Breaker button at the top of your retro to try them out.
